Nous AI Newsletter — Support
How to get help with Nous AI Newsletter: subscriptions, notifications, corrections, data deletion, and how to reach a human.
Last updated 2026-09-11
Need a person? Write to hi@alp.me. It reaches Alp Özcan directly — there is no ticket queue and no bot. Mail is usually answered within a few days.
It helps to include the app version (Settings, at the bottom), your iOS version, and the date of the edition you were looking at.
What Nous is
One edition of artificial-intelligence news a day: roughly twelve to twenty items, ranked, each with a short written summary, plus an executive brief of the day. The sources are public — RSS and Atom feeds from news outlets, research labs and companies, Hacker News, arXiv, and public posts from a curated list of accounts on X. Every item links to the original.
Today's edition is free, in full, for everyone, and so is the daily notification, and so is following companies, models and topics. Nous+ adds the archive of past editions, search across it, Listen (the spoken brief), Storylines across the archive, breaking alerts and the Week in AI.
Common questions
Why is there no sign-in?
Because there is no account. Nous never asks who you are: the app proves to the server that it is a genuine copy of itself, using Apple App Attest, and that is the whole of the authentication. Nothing to remember, nothing to leak. The privacy policy sets out exactly what is stored as a result, which is very little.
I subscribed on another device, or reinstalled the app
Because entitlement comes from your Apple ID rather than from an account here, it follows you. Open the app and use Restore Purchases on the subscription screen; the app asks Apple for the current receipt and unlocks immediately. If it does not, check that the device is signed in to the same Apple ID that bought the subscription.
How much is it, and how do I cancel?
1 week free, then either US$2.99 per month or US$24.99 per year — about 30% less than twelve monthly payments. Both plans unlock the same things, and the exact local price is shown in the app before you confirm. Cancel any time, including during the trial, at https://apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions or in Settings under your Apple ID → Subscriptions. Full terms are on the subscription terms page. Refunds are handled by Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com.
My daily notification did not arrive
Three things account for almost all of it:
- iOS permission: Settings → Notifications → Nous → Allow Notifications.
- The notification is sent at the time you chose, in your device's time zone, and only once a day. If you changed time zones, the next one arrives on the new local schedule.
- An edition is published once a day. If the day's edition is not ready at your chosen time, the notification waits for it rather than sending an empty one.
If none of that explains it, write to hi@alp.me with the time you chose and your time zone.
Today's edition looks short, or has not changed
An edition is frozen when it is published, so it will not change during the day — that is deliberate, and it is what makes scrolling and paging stable. Size varies with the day: quiet days are genuinely quieter.
A summary is wrong, or an item should not be there
Summaries are written automatically and can be wrong; the linked original is always the authority. Report anything inaccurate, offensive, or that should not be in an edition — from the item in the app, or by writing to hi@alp.me with the edition date and the headline. Reports are read by a person, and an item that should not be there is removed.
Publishers: to have a feed removed from the catalogue, or for anything about rights in linked content, write to hi@alp.me.
How do I delete my data?
Delete all my data, in the app's settings, removes everything the server holds about your copy of the app, immediately, and tells you what was deleted. Switching notifications off removes the notification record on its own. Deleting the app without using either leaves only an anonymous identifier, which is deleted automatically 180 days later. The privacy policy explains exactly what each of those is.
None of it affects your subscription, which belongs to your Apple ID rather than to this app — cancel that separately if you want to.
Is there an Android version, or a web version?
Not today. Nous is an iOS app.
